The one knife you'll reach for first — forged, full-tang, and hand-hammered.
The Elite Chefs™ 8-Inch Hand-Hammered Forged Professional Chef Knife is our signature workhorse: a 5Cr15MoV high-carbon stainless blade with a dimpled hammered finish, a full tang running the length of an ergonomic Pakkawood handle, and the balance to make long prep sessions feel effortless.
Slicing brisket, breaking down chicken, dicing onions, mincing herbs, portioning fish — this is the knife that stays on your board.

What makes it the signature knife
The versatile 8-inch blade
Eight inches is the size most professional kitchens default to. Long enough to ride through a cabbage or a brisket in one pass, short enough to stay nimble for detail work. One knife covers almost everything you prep.
Forged 5Cr15MoV high-carbon stainless steel
The blade is forged from 5Cr15MoV — a high-carbon stainless steel chosen for a working balance of edge retention, toughness against chipping, and resistance to rust and staining. Heat-treated to 56–58 HRC: hard enough to hold a keen edge, forgiving enough to re-sharpen at home without special equipment.
The hand-hammered finish
Look closely and you'll see what makes this knife different. Each dimple in the hammered surface breaks the contact between the blade and what you're cutting, so potato, apple and courgette slices fall away instead of clinging to the steel.
It's functional. It's also the reason this is a knife you'll leave out on the block rather than hide in a drawer.

A thin, tapered cutting edge
The blade is ground thin behind the edge — 3 mm at the spine, tapering to a fine cutting bevel — so it parts food rather than wedging through it. Paper-thin tomato rounds, clean cuts through raw fish, tidy dice on an onion.
Ergonomic Pakkawood handle
Your knife is only as good as the control you have over it. The contoured Pakkawood handle — a wood-and-resin composite — gives you a secure grip when your hands are wet, and stands up to kitchen moisture far better than untreated wood. A polished bolster adds a comfortable pinch-grip landing and keeps the weight sitting where your hand is.

Full-tang construction, 251 g of balance
The steel runs the full length of the handle and is pinned in place — no glued-in blade to work loose. At 251 g the knife has enough heft to do the work for you on a downward cut, without the wrist fatigue of a heavier European blade.

Frequently asked questions
Why is 8 inches the size most chefs choose?
It's the balance point. A 6-inch blade runs out of length on a large cabbage or a roast; a 10-inch blade is unwieldy for fine work and intimidating on a small board. Eight inches handles both ends of the job.
What does the hammered finish actually do?
The dimples reduce the surface area touching the food as you cut, which helps starchy and wet ingredients release from the blade instead of sticking to it. It also gives the knife its handcrafted look.
What is Pakkawood?
Pakkawood is a wood-and-resin composite. It keeps the grain and warmth of real wood but resists moisture, staining and swelling far better than untreated hardwood — which is why it's a standard choice for kitchen knife handles.
Is it suitable for a professional kitchen?
Yes. Forged construction, a full tang, a thin cutting edge and an ergonomic handle make it at home on a line as well as on a home worktop.
How do I look after it?
Hand wash with mild soap and dry immediately. Don't leave it soaking, and don't put it in the dishwasher — detergent and heat will dull the edge and damage the handle. Hone it regularly and sharpen it when honing stops bringing the edge back.
Can I cut through bone with it?
No. This is a chef's knife, not a cleaver. Avoid bone, frozen food and anything hard enough to chip the edge.
Does it come with a guarantee?
Every Elite Chefs™ knife is covered by our 30-day return policy. If it arrives damaged or isn't right for you, contact us at support@elitechefs.store and we'll make it right.
