Our Heritage

From a Grandmother's Kitchen to the Global Stage

EliteChefs began long before we sold our first knife. It started in a kitchen in Nairobi — and it runs through embassy dining rooms, international food festivals, and a conviction that a chef is only as good as their tools.

The Legacy of the First Cut

EliteChefs is rooted in the belief that every great meal begins with respect — for the ingredient, the tradition, and the tool. Our founder, Chef Martin Muhia Nyambura, learned this lesson not in a culinary school, but at the side of his grandmother, a home science teacher who dedicated her life to ensuring that the knowledge of food preparation was never lost to time. Assisting her with cakes and traditional wedding feasts, Martin learned that quality is a choice made in every step of the process.

A Professional Journey with Purpose

That childhood curiosity evolved into a world-class career. After graduating from the International Hotel and Training Institute, Chef Martin's path took him to the Imperial Grand Hotel, the United Nations Restaurant, and the EU Embassy Restaurant in Nairobi. But as he climbed the ranks of global gastronomy, he noticed a growing disconnect. The hospitality sector was losing its link to the food supply chain, and professional kitchens were becoming places of waste rather than innovation.

I believe that the rise of prepared food is limiting chefs' opportunity for innovation. We must work to promote local products and traditional gastronomy at every level.

Why EliteChefs Exists

EliteChefs was born from this professional frustration. In the high-pressure environments of embassy kitchens and international food festivals, Chef Martin saw that many “professional” tools failed when the work got serious. They were either overpriced status symbols or cheap imitations that couldn't hold an edge.

We decided to build something different. We took the precision required for a UN banquet and combined it with the soul of traditional Kenyan cooking. Whether you are preparing a nutrient-rich Mukimo or roasting a goat leg with natural Munyu tenderizer, you need a blade that respects the texture of the food.

Our Promise to You

Based in Huntsville, Texas, but rooted in a global culinary heritage, EliteChefs provides tools designed by a chef who has stood where you are standing. We don't sell marketing fluff. We sell the balance, sharpness, and durability that Chef Martin demands in his own kitchen.
